July Newsletter

We did not have any trips this month. However we do have a lot going on so we thought it would be good to put out a newsletter. First thing is that we found out most of the casinos are now requiring a 30 day reservation for bus groups. That is one of the reasons we did not get to go on one of the trips this month....As we have said all along we are slowly but surely getting to know all the in's and out's on casinos and how they operate with groups.  We are also trying to establish our name "G-n-G Tours" with some of the casinos which takes time.

The exciting thing we have going is that we joined our local Chamber of Commerce  and we are getting media coverage on the radio every Thursday at 1:00 pm on "KGNB" AM 420....they are announcing our upcoming trips.

Winstar for Aug.1-2 is looking real good and so is the Shreveport Bossier-City trip on Aug. 28-30. George and I are getting to be real good at those penny slot machines.

Our big trip for the year is BRANSON HOLIDAY TREAT on Nov.6-12....we have a great package and hope to have a great time on this trip. If you happen to know of someone that wants to go to Branson...Please send them our way.

Till next time, Remember to travel the safe way,

Foreign Exchange Students June-July-August 2006

Just had to let you know about the exchange Students George and I have been working with. They are here in Canyon Lake from Bulgaria, Russia and Ukraine. They are here on a summer working program.

G-n-G Tours has been asked to take the students once a week to different
places in and around our area. We get a rental van and have had the pleasure of taking them to Fiesta Texas, Natural Bridge Caverns, shopping
at several electronics stores and of course after every excursion a stop at “Wal-Mart” is a must for their weekly groceries.

What a great experience to try to understand them and to give them answers to their questions. They do speak English which helps but when it
comes to explaining what they are looking for that’s when we all scratch our heads. The fun part is when we have them all together and  they are all speaking in their own language.

We are planning to take them to many more places throughout the summer months. They will be here till the end of August. Let’s see who teaches
who to learn the language.

We have 3 girls and 13 guys a total of 16 students. It will be a rewarding experience and we are looking forward to learning more from them.

Coushatta Casino Trip June 27th-28th 2006

What a wonderful trip this was. We had 2 ladies celebrating their birthdays and a couple celebrating their anniversary. We had a full bus again and had
a great time going there and coming back.

Jose started the pick up at IH 35 & O’Conner where we had 4 from San Antonio. Then we picked up 28 at Ace Hardware in Canyon Lake, some were from Fisher, some from Comfort, from Wimberley and some from Canyon Lake. We picked up 10 at Wal-Mart in New Braunfels, some came from San Marcos, Martindale and some from New Braunfels. Our last pick up was at IH 10 & 46 at the Park n Ride, there we had 10 who were from Wimberley, St. Hedwig and from San Antonio.

Now we are off to Coushatta Casino and ready to WIN.

After George and I served refreshments we had the dollar game. One of the Wimberley ladies won the bag of $$$$. We stopped at a place to break that had some delicious Mexican food and there was also a Fried Chicken place.
All had a good break and got our legs stretched. Have I mentioned we had some young guys with us? They are both teachers and very young and good-looking. I do believe they enjoyed being with all us senior citizens.

We stayed at the Coushatta Grand Inn which is walking distance to the casino. It is a beautiful walk we get to see all the pretty flowers.

We had some winners and some that just decided to leave their money there for next time. George and I did not do so bad on this one. (We are still with the penny and nickel machines). Every one had a great time once again.

By the way I do want to say that Jose is about the best Bus driver I have ever come across. I have been in the Business for 10 + years and he is by far the best!!!

Till next Trip.”Travel The Safe Way”

WINSTAR CASINO TRIP May 20th/21st 2006

Winstar Casino is our least expensive overnight trips we have for now. It is located in Oklahoma and we stay at the Super 8 Motel in Gainesville, TX. I have to say it is our favorite casino, George and I love going there, I guess because it was our first casino experience.

On May 20th we took a full bus there and had a great time. We had 19 from Wimberley, 17 from Canyon Lake, 6 from New Braunfels, 6 from San
Antonio and 3 from San Marcos.

We were all ready to WIN and someone in our group did win over $5000.00 while we were there. There were quite a few winners and of course there were some of us that left our $$$ there (I was one of those).

We had to use two different motels to accommodate everyone. We arrived around 1:30 pm and after we all got our room keys and suitcases were in the rooms we were off to WIN. We stayed at the Casino till around 10:30 pm and Jose was there to pick us up and take us back to the motels. Some of our group left earlier by the casino shuttle (at no charge).

The next morning we all had continental breakfast and Checked out of the motels and we are off again to WIN at the casino. We stayed till 2:30 or 3:00 pm and headed back home. We have a stop half way there which is in
Waco that breaks up the 6 hour trip and gives us a chance to stretch out. We were having so much fun, overall it was a very successful trip and everyone was great. If you have not gone to Winstar maybe you will join us on our next trip there. Wherever you go remember to “Travel the Safe Way”

Till next time, George & Gloria

TX Treasure Casino Cruise Tour Trip on May 9, 2006     View Images

We started out with our pick-ups at around 6:00 am it was early but we were all excited and ready to go. It took approximately 3 hours to get there once we had everyone on the bus. We had a total of 47 people and what fun we all had. The group from San Antonio had their own grocery store with them, they had all kinds of things to drink and eat.

George and I started out by offering everyone a fresh donut from “Sweeties Donuts” and juice (orange or apple). We carry an ice chest with juice, coke, diet coke and bottled water for all our trips (no charge).

We played the $dollar$ game and the winner now had an extra 4o plus dollars to play with at the casino. We also give out several certificates from local merchants by drawing numbers. When you go with our tours, we give you a button to wear and it has# on the back, if we draw your # you can take the prize or you can turn it down. If the prize is turned down we draw again. As you can imagine no one turned the prize down. Everyone was having so much fun, time flew by and it was time to get off the bus and board the TX Treasure Ship.

Once we are on the ship, we all went to have the buffet lunch; it was very good and filling. We eat first because the ship needs to be out certain miles in order to comply with the rules and regulations before it can open up the casino games.

Then it was off to play and play we did! Some of us won big and some won small and some left their money there. But we all had a blast. There is a Lido deck that has live music and some of our group enjoyed sitting out on the deck listening to the band and seeing the Gulf waters.

Now I, on the other hand love to sing and when I heard that “Karaoke” was happening at the lounge area, well guess where I was at. Yes, I did get to sing a song and had a great time doing it.

The trip home was a wonderful everyone was telling their stories of how they did and what fun they all had. We still had prizes to give out and by the time all was said and done, we were back home.

We hope to see you on our next trip so you can experience the fun we have.

Till next time, Remember to travel the safe way.

“TRAVEL THE SAFE WAY”
WITH A COORDINATED & ESCORTED GROUP TRIP DEPARTING LOCALLY

What do I do now that I am retired from the work force? Well let’s see, how about a trip. Should I go on a day trip or an overnight trip or maybe even a longer trip? Where do I go, howdo I get there and what do I do when I get there? Do I really want to drive all those hours and with gas prices today will I have any money left to spend when I get there? There is one answer to all these questions. A group trip that is coordinated and escorted is the best way to travel. All you do is pack your suitcase and board that motor coach. Don’t forget to take your snacks, something to read and a small pillow. You can even view a movie while the driver gets us to the destination.

There is so much to explore in our vast land. Have you ever been to the King Ranch (near Corpus Christi, TX) and met a real cowboy? Have you been to Kemah (near Galveston, TX)?  They have a beautiful boardwalk and lots of quaint shops. How about Progresso (a very safe Mexican border town)? You can shop from one side of the street to the other and not spend a fortune. Oh‘ and lets not leave out the Casinos. I could go on and on but I think you’ve got the picture.

When you ask for the price of 1(one) motel/hotel room verses the price of 20(twenty) plus rooms guess who gets the better price. That is the same for anything you buy. That is why group trips get more for their money because the coordinator can get a better price buying for 40(forty) plus people (most of the time) then when you buy for 1(one). Think of when you go to a buffet and you have to go serve yourself verse the restaurant where you get seated and served. That is what G n G Tours is all about, serving you, the community.

For all of you out there that wants to be adventuress and like to have fun and love to travel. G n G TOURS is here to package group trips for you. Whether it is for the day or overnight or longer, we will get it altogether for you. We have been in the area for the past 8 years and have recently retired and ready to do what we do best. We moved here from Port Aransas, TX where we coordinated group trips for the winter Texans for 10 plus years. With the experience we have from the past and willing to learn more every day on how to better serve you and bring this service to you. Our sincere wish is that you will join us on our trips and try it. We use Liberty Charters from San Antonio for our motor coach bussesG n G TOURS 830-899-5513 / 888-733-7324 E-mail: cruzin@gvtc.com web page coming soon.
